Led Astronomers Uncover Galaxies Near Cosmic Dawn

According to the London-based society’s award quotation, “Ellis has been probably the most influential British astronomers up to now thirty years,” and the Gold Medal acknowledges his “excellent personal analysis achievements and his management in astronomy.” Ellis’s analysis focuses on the big-scale distribution of matter within the universe; the cosmic growth history; and the evolution of galaxies, by way of detailed studies of close by methods and the exploration of the very earliest objects.
